On the first day of February—and the first day of Black History Month’s 100th Anniversary—the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences hosted its annual Grammy Awards celebration. The 68th ceremony took place on Sunday night in Los Angeles, California, and was a major star-studded event that cemented the peak of awards season.

The historic event—dubbed as Music’s Biggest Night—was held at the Crypto.com Arena. The Downtown LA venue was packed to the brim with countless celebrities and VIP attendees all vying to see which nominees would walk away with a highly coveted golden trophy. Some of the night’s biggest winners included SZA and Kendrick Lamar (earning Record of the Year); Best New Artist, Olivia Dean; Album of the Year winner Bad Bunny; and Best R&B Album winner Leon Thomas.

In the style category, red carpet winners included Skepta, who wore a black satin Casablanca Paris suit with curved, oversized peak lapels, gold closure detailing, and a gold-and-diamond timepiece. Bad Bunny wore a custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture velvet deep-v tuxedo (inspired by the decanter shape of the Maison’s signature “Shocking” fragrance). The Roots’ keyboardist, Ray Angry, opted for a more extreme look, donning a gold-studded full-face mask, large crystal jewelry, layered shirting, and sneakers. Lamar wore a classic black satin tuxedo, with white shirting, black bowtie, and black cummerbund (topping off his Grammy-winning look with patent leather John Lobb shoes, gold-rimmed eyeglasses, diamond stud earrings, and a fisted black hair pick—nodding to “Black Power” representation).

Rounding out the night’s well-curated event, the late-great R&B legend D’Angelo was tributed by an all-star roster of music icons, including Lauryn Hill, Raphael Saadiq, Anthony Hamilton, John Legend, and more. Hosting and closing out the show was emcee Trevor Noah, who wore a purple velvet blazer with peak lapels, a white shirt, a black satin bowtie, black tuxedo pants, and a jewel-encrusted brooch. Ending a remarkable hosting run, Noah bid farewell to the audience and viewers for his final time since hosting the annual ceremony in 2021.
