Since 2001, each summer the last Sunday in June has been home to the BET Awards. And this year’s 26th edition brought the heat!
Hosted by star comedian Druski and dubbed “culture’s biggest night,” the annual showcase honored Black talent across the worlds of music, film, fashion, and philanthropy. This year’s honorees included Teyana Taylor (Icon of the Year), Lauryn Hill (Living Legend Icon Award), and Sylvia Rhone (Ultimate Icon Award), with category award winners including Jalen Brunson, Leon Thomas, Olivia Dean, Kehlani, Kendrick Lamar, and Mariah The Scientist.
On the red carpet, stars sparkled and shined in their Sunday’s best—from relaxed suiting to colorful ensembles, with one notable trend stealing the show: diamonds. From blinged-out necklaces to eyewear, tooth gems, and watches, a number of celebrities turned up the ice meter while posing for the cameras.
Describing the importance of wearing diamonds at major red carpet events, Robbins Brothers Fine Jewelers’ Director of Marketing and Public Relations Tracey Lyles said: “Red carpet moments are cultural time stamps capturing style in ways that shape trends and become the talk of the town for days. When a celebrity steps out in diamonds, it’s a statement, and in today’s world, where people spend hours scrolling through red carpet breakdowns on social media, those moments take on a life of their own.” Some of Lyles’s favorite moments from this year’s red carpet? “Druski, Da’Vinchi, and Lucky Daye,” she added.
